Also I found "The Entertainer" on one of Scott Joplin's sites that worked well. I can tell you that I finally had some success with some scores that I found on Steve hendricks site which was mentioned on this forum just before I left. I have been away for about a month, am just now sort of getting back into it. MusicXML files can be imported by Harmony Assistant.

It mentions a new type of midi format called Music XML which maybe of interest to all. I have read an interesting article available at this website: But, this also produced some problems with getting the correct key (sharp or flats) and duration of notes (some are tied together). From Sharpeye2 I did export the music in to a midi file and them imported it back into HA. However, like Wim, I have also tried Sharpeye2 and got good results. That said the problem could be with me, as I have limited knowledge of music. Unfortunately, I am also having some difficulties with getting good results with OMeR. The main reason I purchased these products was to scan in piano music and be able to play it back as backing music for my daughter as she sings in two choirs. All are great products and I love using them, thank you.

I purchased HA, OMeR, Virtual Singer and the Gold Sound Base about 6 months ago. « Last Edit: Aug 31 st, 2004, 8:47pm by Willie N » I'm sorry to say that as I really like your other products. With Sharpeye 1 I had a MIDI file playing accurately in minutes with minimal editing. I found both difficult to edit and to get to play in HA. One OMer described as "atrocious", the other as good. I shall send you a couple of other scanned documents. Yes I did, and you replied, but I am really not getting the hang of the programme at all. « Reply #7 on: Aug 29 th, 2004, 12:53pm »ĭid you send us a sample of your scanned pages, as requested ? Myriad you are going to have to do better!! I scanned in a faded tattered score that OMeR would not look at, and was able to get the music playing with minimal correction. I could not get Sharpeye 2 to work for some reason, it reported a "debugger on my system", but Sharpeye 1 was extremely effective. Scanned documents were more of a problem, but I do not have any actual need of scanning music.

My best results were with PDF files (originally created by someone else using Finale), reduced to bitmaps via GS View (Ghostscript). I found that OMeR was quite selective in the documents it could process accurately. I switched to Sharpeye2 with amazing results. I tried to use Omer without much success really. The other Myriad products are great, but this one!!!!!!Īn "atrocious" quality is always due to something wrong. I am getting really quite frustrated and disillusioned. Has anyone out there really been getting good results, and if so have you any tips. I am using quite a good scanner, but even the cleanest scores are being categorised as atrocious. I have been trying to use this programme for a couple of months now, and to be frank I have not been able to get it to work satisfactorily.
